I ran it underneath to the center as you can see in the pic. I used one of these and replaced the cig lighter with it. I ran the mic to my center gauge which you can also see in the pic. It works there and doesn't block the view, but I still might move it to a better more concealed spot at some point. Mine didn't have any external gps, it just come thru android auto.
