Visual clutter stresses me out immensely, but struggle like you - out of sight out of mind. ✨Baskets, basket, baskets, bins + Label Maker✨ Clear/Frosty bins to mute the clutter, but still visible. I label all of my bins in the same spot to help me find things quicker. Also, don’t feel the need to only put one label. Some of my bins have 2-3 labels in a column such as: beanies, gloves OR paper crafts, vinyl, mats. Try to get bins that are stackable when used or in storage Wire/cut out baskets instead of solid ones I avoid drawers and opt for cabinets with doors. Place items in as is or in bins/baskets. Labeled as needed. Hides the clutter, but you can see everything. Always hang clothing up or have them in baskets. Avoid stacking items, I use the MariKondo/KonMari method. Hooks are a great way to have things visual, but organized and can be hidden or in spots often unused. Under bed storage, I have specific bins or ikea storage zipper bags for items rarely used. You have free will, do what makes sense to you. I have two mini shelves that are 3M to my under sink cabinet doors to hold items that I want easy access to, but want to avoid clutter on sink. Routine decluttering/cleaning. This is important as it will happen that something is overlooked or forgotten. This helps reset the space. Everything has a home, if it doesn’t have a home, it’ll just go from one spot to another. Get bins/baskets that makes you happy, let it be design, color or such. This may make it easier or more enjoyable to keeps things better organized Items I use: Label Clips, I use these to put labels on baskets I can’t stick on. Target used to have these in their value section. Dymo LetraTag 100H Label Maker Easy, small, portable. After trial and error, I find the plastic clear labels are the best and easily removable for when you want to change it. Dymo LetraTag Clear Label Value Pack off brands are cheaper, but did not enjoy the quality or the tape residue when removed. Definitely order the refills online, way cheaper than in store.
