If you can lift 20lb dumbbells for 3x8, the fact that you can't lift the bar is almost certainly a technique issue, not a strength issue. Does your gym have lighter bars? Sometimes there are 25 or 30lb metal bars, or something like this. As for your goal, it's very unlikely, but that doesn't mean you can't aim for it! Just don't try it until you've "earned it", so to speak. According to 1 rep max calculators, you should aim to be lifting 120 or 125 for 8 before you attempt 150 for 1. And a lot of people (myself included) rarely if ever test a 1rm, so you could aim for having an estimated 1RM of your bodyweight.
