We do magnesium glycinate gummies about 30 min before bed on what I refer to as ‘emergency nights’ (times we need to go to bed early to get up early, or times he took a laaaate nap and bedtime would otherwise be impossible). It works wonders on my son…and on me. We take these and I cut them in half and only give my son half a gummy. I sometimes take the other half, too. I often fall asleep before he does when I take one. My best friend gives these to her kids nightly, but she reported that they seem to stop working. So I am careful to only use them when I really need to, because they work so well that I never want to lose my bedtime superpower. I also used them nightly for a week when winter break ended and we needed to get into a new routine for a new school. But I wouldn’t use them as a crutch much longer than a few weeks or sparingly.
