From personal experience I would get everything before the third trimester. Firstly, I have friends whom have had twins and the mother was too exhausted physically and mentally by the end of the second to accompany her partner to inspect baby purchases. With different degrees of morning sickness depending on the person a lot of the remaining time will evaporate. Secondly, towards the end there will be many last minute tasks (pregnancy related workshops, hospital preparation, etc) that will take precedence over shopping. Thirdly, the delivery date can vary. Ours was on the day we scheduled however for another friend who had twins theirs came 3 weeks earlier than expected. I work in a job where solving a myriad of issues and short/medium/long term considerations are a daily task so I was glad my partner and I had the bulk of tasks finished before we went to the hospital. By the final week I was still preparing some parts of the nursery, visited the hospital and one of the sweetest moments was just sitting at a café the day prior spending time with my partner. There are big ticket items that can be prepared early and in consideration of delivery times - cot, mattress, car seat, bassinet, change mat, etc - and smaller items that would be used regardless. Smaller items I would get: * Kmart / Target - Anko Large Cleaning Caddy - https://www.kmart.com.au/product/large-cleaning-caddy-43533275/ * Kmart / Target - 480 Pack Fragrance Free Wipes - https://www.kmart.com.au/product/480-pack-fragrance-free-wipes-43327348/ * Kmart / Target - Puppy Training Pad 100 Pack - https://www.kmart.com.au/product/puppy-training-pad-100-pack-42779612/ * Kmart / Target - 200 Pack Nappy Bags - https://www.kmart.com.au/product/200-pack-nappy-bags-42164432/ * Kmart - Removable Blockout Wide Window Film - https://www.kmart.com.au/product/removable-blockout-wide-window-film-43671946/ * Chemist Warehouse - Braun Manual Nasal Aspirator 1 - https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/146640/braun-manual-nasal-aspirator-1 * Huggies - Huggies Nappies - https://www.amazon.com.au/stores/Huggies%C2%AE/page/3CF3D823-5018-4B92-BF3E-316D1874A2CE * Amazon - Ubbi Baby Changing Pad - https://www.amazon.com.au/Ubbi-Changing-Detachable-Lightweight-Waterproof/dp/B0CWPQW49C * Amazon - LeCoirrax - White noise machine, night light - https://www.amazon.com.au/LeCoirrax-Upgraded-Soothing-Wireless-Function/dp/B0CXQ5HPK3/ There are also items that can make your pregnancy a lot more enjoyable with less discomfort especially carrying twins let alone one during upcoming warm seasons. For example: * Belly Bands - 3-in-1 Belly Band for Pregnancy, Postpartum, C-section - https://www.bellybands.com.au/products/3-in-1-belly-band-for-pregnancy-postpartum-c-section * Sleepybelly - Sleepybelly Pregnancy Pillow - https://sleepybelly.com.au/products/sleepybelly-pregnancy-pillow * Kmart / Target - Maternity Briefs, leggings, knit pants, dresses - https://www.kmart.com.au/category/women/womens-maternity/ or https://www.target.com.au/c/women/maternity/W93764 * Sussan - Nighties - https://www.sussan.com.au/sleepwear/nighties Finally a large baby activity play mat, baby carrier and a bouncer to help manage one or both babies simultaneously would also help. I am a fan of the Ergobaby Evolve 3-in-1 bouncer as it feels solid and comes with an additional newborn insert.
