What I did in my setup is to use one of these distribution block that has a large nut for the 8 awg wires to connect to and then has a smaller connection for some low power items to tap into it... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJVRXSND Ideally the distribution block would have a fuse for the smaller wire but I couldn't find a fused block like this that only had one fuse. They make large ones with lots of fuses but I only need to feed my DSP. So I run an inline fuse on my tapped wire to protect that smaller wire.
