Here, i'll copypaste an explanation I found elsewhere A hyper-object, as per Morton, is something that is not limited to a particular point in spacetime, is comprised of multiple other object relations, and 'takes over' other objects (that is, it forces its relations and effects on other objects). Take the example of global warming. Global warming exists without a definitive location and in more than a single coordinate of spacetime. Relationally, its comprised of human activity, natural movements in earth's climate, etc etc. It also forces its effects on regular objects. Global warming's heat waves, natural disasters, and ecological displacements all are effects of global warming which are experienced by non-hyper objects. And you can read about them more in this book if you're interested https://www.amazon.com/Hyperobjects-Philosophy-Ecology-after-Posthumanities/dp/0816689237
