I’ve been very pleased with my Narwal Freo Pro. It does avoid objects fine, and you can set “no go” zones (like a delicate rug or a litter box area) as well. It does use an app as well as has a button on the station for one touch use, AND you can set it up in Alexa or other devices. I will say the app isn’t “simple.” You CAN use simple presets, sure, but you can do a lot of in-depth options that you might need to watch a YouTube video on so you see what is all available to you. Once set up, you only need to go in-depth again to make changes however. It is not self-emptying, but it does use air compression to compact what it vacuums up for longer goes between emptying. I do have two dogs, one of which is a big shutter, and I do empty it once a week, but it says “up to seven weeks” without emptying, but that’s probably in a pet free home! I’m a freak about maintenance on my devices because they’re expensive and I want to keep using them as long as possible, so I spend about 15 minutes once a week doing maintenance, which is swapping to fresh mop pads, making sure the underside is clean and free of anything sticky or dirty, that it might’ve picked up, including the brush, roller, and dumping the old mop water, and refilling the fresh water. But that time is a big swap for the HOURS that I used to spend each week, vacuuming and mopping. I’ll drop the link so you can read all of the details and their reviews from Amazon to help make a decision. Good luck. https://a.co/d/02OlRuNx
