I often have to flip open the clamshell to access the keyboard/trackpad upon boot and access the USB ports. Interesting. I've never had an issue with rebooting or needing to open my laptop for access. I use a Magic Trackpad and a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID. I currently have this but it works best for horizontal mounting.
