I got one of these for that: https://a.co/d/0df19y7X It had an on/off switch for those who worry about battery drainage.

It looks like some of the lower profile adapters might fit, but it's a bit hard to tell. Another idea that pops into my mind, again, a bit hard to tell -- is perhaps a right angle connector could plug into the port, and then snake out the gap in the top right corner. Not sure how tight a squeeze that is. Something like this -- there are many of these sorts of things available: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EW83OCQ

Hi u/rds4640 - Thank you! Coincidentally, Corbin (TheIoniqGuy) issue with those batteries is what inspired me to add that feature. Regarding the adapter -- the one thing I would discourage is constantly inserting and removing the adapter, just to avoid physical wear and tear on the OBD-II connector. If you want to turn it off when not in use, something like this might be of interest. I use one of these in my car: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EW83OCQ I tend to leave my VGate iCar Pro 2S on all the time, but having this switch is nice when I'm doing verification testing in the car.

Hi u/iMorphball - Always good to be mindful of unintended consequences -- and noted about your EDIT, thanks for sharing that. One of the reasons I like the VGate iCar Pro 2S is that its quiescent current consumption while in its sleep state is only 3mA. That is a drop of water in the ocean in comparison to our 60Ah aux batteries, not to mention the giant traction battery. The adapter is not awakened by OBD-II traffic, only when it receives a BLE message. I do keep my adapter behind a cable/switch combination, but more often than not I leave it turned on -- it's just nice to have a physical switch when I'm doing development testing. I do discourage repeatedly inserting and removing the adapter, to avoid excess wear and tear on the car's OBD-II connector. A device like this one can be considered a sacrificial component, easily replaced if needed -- although with the switch you never have to unplug anything. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EW83OCQ

Hi u/No_Consequence1896 - there are differing views about this. I share some thoughts about this here: https://www.theburl.com/ioniq-app/unplugging-your-adapter.html The one thing I would discourage is constantly inserting and removing the adapter -- simply to avoid too much wear and tear on the OBD-II connector in your car. If you want to power it down when not in use, I would suggest getting an accessory cable like this one which is equipped with a nice on/off switch. I use this personally every day as I develop the app. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EW83OCQ
