Keep in mind that the lid on this will not stay open on it's own and it does actually come of the hinges. I positioned mine in front of a cabinet where I am able to lean the lid against it to keep it open. A wall would work the same and I have been carefull when leaning mine on my cabinet. Since I did that there aren't any issues opening and shutting it and a casual user wouldn't even be able to tell that the lid does come off. It rides on it's hinges as long as I don't lean it to far back. I actually found out about it by reading some of the reviews. That's probably the one negative I have with this case, but it's a non-issue given where I placed it. The only time my lid came off was when I took it off just to check it out. Had I not leaned it against something I'm sure once it went to far enough back it would have come off. Once I lined it up it in the hinges correctly it went on without too much difficulty. It's a fairly substantial case and I do like how they lined the inside of the case as well and it helps greatly that this thing has wheels especially given it's size.
