Fridge power usage varies a few ways: Old fridge like a 20y old super reliable GE, could draw 1200w on startup and then draw 800w New $900 top freezer GE can mostly draw under 100w except when in defrost cycle drawing 300w. Even though the dumb specification on this new GE says...needs 15A. To know what your fridge is using, I recommend buying cheaper but equally good alternatives to the famous Kill A Watt ( two for $60+ of the original kill a Watt brand) https://www.amazon.com/P3-P4400-Electricity-Usage-Monitor/dp/B00009MDBU Or a pair of a lesser known brand for around $20 below! I have a few of both brands, so I recommend the below pair/set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CMD7Y6P8 BUT! they all block the entire duplex outlet, so for either 120v outlet meter, you may also want some short three prong extension cords, each cost more than $10 ! This amazes/saddens me that a smart device can be cheaper than some copper wire and insulation and plugs in an extension cord.

The possible low voltage... brownout theory is worth pursuing.
