I’ve tried many different ones. I don’t like the ones with gel because the gel only stays cool for so long & I find they’re not that cool to begin with. I have an Aqua Coolkeeper - there are crystals in the mat which absorb water and it stays cool for several days. Only small downside is that the surface the mat is on might become damp, so depending on where you put it you might have to put something underneath. Used this mat for years & years though & I’ve always been very happy with it. But now I use the K&H Coolin’ Mat. There’s foam inside & you fill it up with water. (It’s kind of like a water bed haha.) You can make it as thick as you(r pet) like(s). It cools incredibly well and no water leaks out like with the crystals.Also no need to ‘recharge’ it, although on very hot days I sometimes empty & refill it with cold water again.It’s my new favourite & most importantly of course - my dog loves it as well.
