My grandma and uncle wrote a book about their story of finding one another after she was forced to place him for adoption in the 1950s in Edmonton. He was adopted by a man in the British Air Force and his Scottish wife. He ended up growing up in Zimbabwe and joined a cult in his early adulthood as he struggled to make sense of why something felt so off in his life. He didn’t know he was adopted until the government mandated my grandma be allowed to contact him in the early 2000s, when he was in his 40s. Obviously I’m biased but it’s a fascinating read! It’s called “A Hole in Their Hearts: The Search For The Son Who Didn't Know He Was Lost”https://a.co/d/0fYdNSC8
