It is absolutely not, especially if it has red dye, like OP is using. But even clear store bought nectar has additives in it which aren't natural for the humming birds and will lead to health complications. Please stop spreading misinformation. Making your own nectar is incredibly easy, about 100x cheaper, and wastes infinitely less plastic. All you have to do is dissolve 1 quarter cup of white granulated sugar into 1 cup of water. You don't need to boil it if using filtered water. Just stir it in. I recommend getting a magnetic mixer. It'll get the job done in a few minutes. I hope you understand I am not attempting to shame you. I'm trying to educate you and everyone else for the sake of the health of the animals. Human made hummingbird feeders are 100% unnatural, which puts a big responsibility on us to make sure we put them out safely and in a way that does not do harm. Store bought nectar does harm, full stop.
