Good to Go: A Fresh Take on Potty Training for Today's Intentional Parent

My first is the same age. Some advice I received was to implements any big changes (like a room change) at least 3 months before baby comes so that toddler doesn’t associate the changes with baby. Sleep: currently we cosleep, which I enjoy, but we’re still going to try to move him to his own room. The reason I don’t want to share a bed postpartum is in case I need a CS — he flops around a lot. Plan is to get a big boy bed for his room and have dad sleep in there to get toddler used to the new arrangement. If that doesn’t work, we’ll see if he will sleep in a separate bed in our room. Potty training: I plan to take a gradual approach, following Good to Go. We’ve been reading books and he has a mini potty. He’s started telling us when he’s pooped, and sometimes before he poops, but won’t sit on the potty long enough to go. So we’re waiting for him to show more readiness. General sibling hype: I don’t think he will totally understand what’s happening, but I plan to get some books about being a brother to introduce the idea. I am debating getting him a baby doll too to help the concept land. Open to suggestions if anyone has them!
