I would recommend finding a better store or brand maybe and try a different pre-printed if you want to give that type another shot. I do pre-printed ones bc w my ADHD holding a sustained count is difficult and even small simple projects end up pretty off. Most of the pre-printed projects I have done have not been confetti heavy. Actually I really only have one that was just basically all confetti, the others all have decent blocks of one color at a time. On Amazon at least Zhenqing and ITSTITCH are two stores that i have gotten multiple kits from and I have never had any issues with any of them being confetti heavy. The brand Generic has been very inconsistent on their patterns, so unless they post a photo that shows what the pattern looks like on the aida, I wont get it.
