It's not odd it's basic physics. It's because it's a smaller area that bounces the sound around. It's kinda like how car a audio subwoofer with just a 10 inch driver can make such louder bass than home theaters can with a couple of 15 inch drivers by using the interior of the car itself as basically a large cabinet. Large cabinets is part of how good subs can dig so far below 20hz. Like my Klipsch RP 1400SW subwoofer has big 21.3 X 20 X 25.6 inch cabinet. In your bathroom you're in effect hearing the same bass multiple times over. I not too long ago put these in my bathroom to replace a couple of these dinky things. Which the only thing they had going for them was being waterproof so they could be in the shower itself. The bass on those Edifiers got so magnified despite being on the other side of the bathroom, I had to not only mess with their crossover through the Edifier app, but also completely kill the bass in the EQ. It wasn't so bad in the bathroom itself but once I got into the shower with all that tile around 3 sides of me to increase reflections even more, all I'd hear was bass drowning out everything. After the crossover and EQ fix it's at least tolerable now but definitely not ideal. Barely better than those crappy Oontz, SMH. I can't imagine how bad it would be if there was an actual subwoofer in there. lol All I wanted was something to drown out my horrendous singing but I just can't win I guess. 😄 You can't reverse it. All you can do is try to make the bass sound better in your room by doing a subwoofer crawl.
