So the mixer is what mixes your live vocals with your background track so you can hear your voice in realtime w the backing track in headphones. So you’ll need a mixer if that is your goal. I may be wrong but the interface makes the output more compatible to your phone for recording (I tried to directly output my mix to my phone and it was horrible quality). So the audio interface I got should make the final product cleaner when it reaches your phone or whatever device you’re recording on. I will say take my recs with a grain of salt bc I literally just set it up yesterday and haven’t set up the interface yet. So far the mixer and everything else work very well, I hear my voice in realtime with the backing track and the audio is very clear.
