I am almost 22 weeks now from a trimal with dislocation (2 plates, 16 screws, and 2 tightrope for syndesmosis repair). My surgeon told me the hardware stays in unless it's giving me pain or limiting movement. It's doing neither, so mine will stay in. I see below you're not having issues, just don't like people asking about your hardware, maybe scar? I personally would never undergo another surgery unless it was really necessary, so make sure you're doing it for the right reasons. For scaring, silicone products really help. There are gels or like a tape. I personally like this one. I put it on my surgical scars and they look great, and also on a random old scar I had on my arm, it helped reduce the old scar as well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08X12WCF7?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_5
