I use a big mix of things! Tiering the display is essential. There's plastic risers and pillars on AliExpress in different sizes. I'm only linking to Amazon as examples, because tons of Amazon (and Ebay) sellers are actually just dropshippers who order off AliExpress and mark up the prices by quite a bit! One example of plastic risers [Another example of plastic risers] (https://a.co/d/0cC3dIRC) They do come in other colors and patterns, clear is just nice. I also use small cardboard boxes painted or covered in something to lift up dolls in back. For some Cleo dolls to stand on, I painted a small cardboard box gold to blend in, then had others sitting or standing in front of it. Or I drape a handkerchief or bit of fabric over it. But I get most of my ideas and riser options from the candles and cases aisle in thrift shops! I get pretty glass candle holders, mini or regular size vases, and even fancy drinking glasses for dolls and figurines to stand on. My dolls one is in the process of being redone, but I do have my Sailor Moon one to show! Work in progress aler 😅 Pluto and Saturn are on tall glass candlesticks. I flipped Pluto's one upside down so she could be standing right on top of the spiral. Since candlesticks are meant to hold a candle, flipping them upside down tends to be the way to get a flat surface for figures and doll stands to stand on. The candlesticks are sitting on a clear plastic drawer flipped sideways so Princess Serenity can be sitting inside it. Another candlestick that has a tulip-like cutout along its top is what I'm hanging small Keychain style figures off of. Uranus and Neptune are on a vase flipped upside down, and it's further lifted up by sitting in a plastic decorative jewelry container. You can see a candlestick I haven't used yet to the far right behind them. Human Luna (yellow dress figure) is on top of a clear plastic drawer that is thick and sturdy, the base hidden by pearls. The Super Sailor Moon figure to the far left below her is on a much smaller vase that looks likd of diamond-like. And so on! This is more magical and fancy than what I use for my Monster High Dolls, I mostly use plainer things to lift up the back rows since it's more hidden by dolls than the figures I have here. But it gives you an idea of how wild you can go.

I've used two different kinds: There are smaller risers that are good for one figure: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KN5G9CQ?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1 And then there are longer risers that you can fit at least two figures on: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CN113MH7?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_6&th=1 Most times when I put a figure on them, I use the base that the figure came with. But for older figures that had larger bases, I've also gone an bought a pack of the old school oval stands. Iron Man figures are usually stable enough that they just need minimal support to keep them standing, and a crotch grabber works just as well as a waist clamp. It also makes it easier to put more than one figure on the long risers. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYLSSSVT?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4
