I actually made a node with the intention of "Gorilla-Node" I used a XIAO SEEED nRF52 node I had on hand, (about 22 bucks) , this enclosure $9, an Alfa antenna, could have used a cheaper one, but I had this one laying around 18-24 bucks. solar panel was a also a small one I had , which cost about $5 bucks, 200mah or something like that, it fit on the top of the enclosure, and the antenna as well was attached to the top. so this was pretty small, I put a single 18650 battery with holder, and a tp4056. and why did I choose this enclosure? because of the mounting tabs, I attached 4 rubber coated magnets. my original plan was to mount this at a public garage at the beach near me. there was a metallic roof type structure on the top floor. (6 floors high). I never put the thing up, because after I built it, someone in the area put up a node where they live near by, so it would have been redundant. also that roof I planned on putting it on, was way to high for me to reach, I would have needed a pole, which i could have done. but I didnt want to bother at this point. I kept it , flashed it with the "other" mesh system. and its up on my roof for now. if we get a hurricane, I might set it up at the beach for emergency use.
