OMG, you don’t have to get official Apple or Beats cables. You just have to make sure the cable is rated for data and not just a charging cable. I agree that sticking to Apple or Beats takes the guess work out of it, but it is not a requirement. I’ve used these Anker cables for over a year with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and have not had an issue in my 2020 Corolla: https://a.co/d/05VGxcHX
Okay - UPDATE: after trying "everything"* and even switching cables three times, I landed on this cable and it works like a charm: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DD5YHMH?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 Maybe some of the other things i did (see below) played a part with this particular (and only this) cable working, but all I know is it worked for me so I hope it helps someone else!! *what I tried Deleted the old phone from the car. Deleted the car from the iPhone's Bluetooth and CarPlay settings. Re-paired Bluetooth. Restarted the phone. Restarted the car. Checked that CarPlay wasn't restricted in Screen Time. Tried reconnecting from scratch. u/Old-Activity-9066 u/Comprehensive_Fuel43 u/71077345p u/DryNecessary8017 u/NortheastCgyGuy u/tsdguy
