Nah that one has the same CPU. When it comes to upgrading in the future cpu options are more limited than GPU options. https://www.microcenter.com/product/699677/powerspec-g528-gaming-pc I bought this pc three weeks ago and it’s been great so far. You will have many many options to upgrade your cpu in the future and it’s a great price. Idk why I don’t see people talking about the power spec G528 more often. My first gaming laptop had an intel cpu and after doing research I’ve basically come to the understanding that AMD is superior to intel when it comes to gaming cpu’s for many different reasons. One thing I absolutely love about the AMD RYZEN 5 7500X3D is it stays cool as a cucumber due to a lower TPD (compared to other modern cpu’s) of 65W. Great energy efficiency and still all the power you could ask for at this range. The 5060 is your bottle neck. Meaning you will upgrade your gpu first. You could upgrade to a 5070 and your gpu will still be the bottle neck. This means like say in 3 years the 5060 isn’t enough for you. Maybe you want to play the newest games in 1440p. Okay upgrade to a 5070. 4 more years go by and now you want to play 4k maybe. You can then chose from many different more powerful AMD cpus and pair that with a 5080. Not quite sure how big a 5080 is so you’d have to make sure it fits in the pc case that’s it. Very upgrade able. Not to mention the 7500X3D outperforms that intel CPU by a lot already so if u go with that intel you’ll need to upgrade sooner, but your options suck. There’s zero reason to get an intel CPU imo. The cpu+mobo you pick will determine whether or not you have to use DDR4 or DDR5 ram. My prebuilt only came with one stick 16GB DDR5. This is a drawback. Ram works best with 2 sticks. However 1 stick of DDR4 is WAY WAY worse than 1 stick of DDR5. So I’ll have to cough up $250 for an extra stick pretty soon here to get better 1% lows. The difference in FPS is small but the difference in 1% FPS lows is much bigger. I’m still gaming just fine with one stick of DDR5 but it’s not ideal. Not as smooth as it could and should be, not yet. My prebuilt came with this ram https://a.co/d/08KfS5dv Price went up $18 a week after I bought the pc so I wanna buy it before it goes even higher I’m jus broke
Np bro, if you decide to get the g528 be aware that they seem to switch the brand of ram they use for the single stick sometimes. When I went to my closest micro center the guy selling me the pc assured me that the ram would be one of 3 different types of t force ram he even pulled up the three different versions it could be. Well he was completely wrong, mine came with a stick of Crucial DDR5 Pro CL36 6000MHz. This horrified me when I got home and unboxed the pc because someone left a review stating their pc came with a stick of “discontinued crucial ram” making it impossible for him to buy an extra stick. Well whether or not he actually had a DISCONTINUED stick of crucial ram idk, he didn’t state the type just that it was ddr5 crucial. Mine is in fact Crucial but it’s not at all discontinued. Adorable? Nah not really but they still make it! I just went to fetch u a link and to my horror they raised the price 18 dollars since I last checked a week ago😵 Exact ram my g528 came with: https://a.co/d/0evyDVdi All this to say, If you get the g528 it will game just fine with the one stick of ram however it will probably lower over all frames around ≈10% but this is very game dependent. The real issue isn’t over all fps it’s the 1% lows. This means that even if the overall fps difference is only 10 or even 20 frames, dual channel is still going to feel smoother and more consistent because the 1% lows could be more like 30-40 fps difference potentially. This difference between single and dual channel is significantly worse when you go to DDR4 so I would not recommend gaming with one stick of DDR4 at all. Still even with DDR5 this is an unfortunate inherent draw back during the ram crisis. I 100% want to buy an extra stick. I figured I’d get the stick before upgrading to a 1440p monitor but actually the difference between single channel and dual channel is the biggest with 1080p. With 1440p it’s less notice able and even less with 4k. So idk I could wait for the price to go down but what if it just keeps increasing by $18 like it just did? So I’d recommend trying to see if they will actually open the box and check what kind of ram is inside the exact pc you’re going to purchase. I have no idea if this is something they are willing to do or not. I called MC before I drove an hour there to ask exactly what kind of ram is in the g528. The guy said “we can check for you if you come in store” I came in store and asked and because the guy was so positive that it would be a brand of t-force that I could buy I didn’t ask them to actually open the box and check. I bet the guy who said he had a stick of discontinued ram was mistaken, it was most likely the same stick I have and he just didn’t look that hard for it online but it’s a possibility. The bigger thing I’d look out for is this. What if the g528 you buy does come with t-force ram, and you go to look online and they only sell it in 2 stick kits. If it’s not possible to just buy 1 stick of matching ram then you’re fucked. You’d have to buy a set of two matching sticks. Some people say it’s okay to use different brands as long as the specs are the exact same. Might be true but I’m not risking that. For me driving an hour if I came home and saw the stick was discontinued I would have just drove an hour back and returned it and been annoyed. Just something I want you to be aware of.Best of luck to you
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it's this not the same RAM? https://a.co/d/06PTvDSO Legitimate question. I also just bought a G528 and was looking into future upgrade options.
