People have used the extra "pick" as a weapon and the Drill Sergeants would take a nail clipper with the extra "pick" attached. Pens, paper, envelopes and stamps (so you friend can write home ) Toothpaste and tooth brush. Deodorant (unscented is best). Any prescription meds (with the 'script), eyeglasses (if used) Five days of clothes plus some towels (for AIT after basic). Your family and friends should only send #1, #3, #4 and #5 if they want to send you stuff. They can send postcards as well.
