Not sure if you are soldering the wire directly to the dean connector, so just to be sure, this is would recommend using: a "spade connector crimp", as per the picture. You put the wire on one side, properly secure it by closing the lips with pliers, slide the other side on the dean connector and also secure it with pliers, then solder over it. You don't have to buy a new mosfet, especially if it is just going to break again later.Even if through trial and error you make the wire too short, you can just buy some AWG 16 or 18 (?) wire, desolder the old wire from the mosfet, and solder the new wire with appropriate length, then use the Also, as another commenter mentioned, use Flux or soldering tin with flux core to help the tin flow properly once it melts.
