I use this CoBoo Pumping Spray from Amazon (https://a.co/d/0a6Q3khN) and it makes pumping so much more comfortable! Really reduces friction between nipple and flange. I also highly recommend sunflower lecithin. It helped so much when I got mastitis a couple weeks postpartum, and I still take it twice a day for maintenance. It seems to really help prevent clogs. For the hard outer areas, the sunflower lecithin helps plus ibuprofen and ice for pain. Plus applying gentle pressure to those areas while pumping. Not pushing too hard and not really rubbing - just giving it a nudge to say "you should really drain. That'd be great."
