Can't recommend Reclaimed by Seth Haddon enough! It's fantasy and more focused on action than the romance, though it includes that, too. Very well written with compelling characters. A Bone In His Teeth has some elements of horror; it's about a merman and a trans lighthouse keeper. And if you don't mind a self-rec, I wrote a book about a trans cowboy, and I consider it kinda literary romance? It comes out end of June. :3
