When a guy replaced my water heater last month, he told my my pressure regulator was broken and my house was at 115 psi. I remember the house inspector, 25 years ago, turning on my upstairs tub and saying "wow, you certainly don't have a pressure problem" So possibly it's been like that ever since. I've never had any problem with any hose or sprinkler I've ever purchased - Home Depot, Amazon, etc. They are just a perforated metal tube - how do yours self-destruct? This was the last one I bought - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CC3V7161 No idea where they get 4000 sq ft though. Even at high pressure, it covers about 35'x40' Previous from Amazon was in 2017 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0017QDHYM?th= Fwiw, he set it at 60psi and I was very sad with the pathetic flow everywhere. I just raised it to 70. I haven't watered yet, but if I can't cover the full width of my front yard in one pass, like it used to, I might raise the pressure just for watering. (only problems I've ever had are toilet fill valves that develop a leak - I've replaced one every 2-3 years, and the expandable hose that I keep in the garage - a $7 Assurant warranty when buying from Amazon has replaced them every 2 years.)
