Everyone is over thinking this and spending too much money. Here is the best solution inexpensive solution for westinghouse generators $140 and comes with the 7 pin plug. Install an automatic transfer switch, and use this switch to start/stop/and charge the battery for the generator. Remove the 30 amp plug that feeds the 120vac outlet. Plug a 120vac plug from the house to sense power loss, which automatically start the generator and shuts it off when power is back on. Wire the 50 AMP to the main house automatic transfer switch to power the house. Note you cannot use both the 30A and 50A plugs on the generator (feed back loop-bad!), that is why I said to remove the 30A and dont use the 120VAC plug on the face. You only want to turn on/off and charge the generator battery, which it will do! It has LED indicators to tell you the status and the generator battery will charge when the generator is off. No extra parts and wiring, so easy it is stupid, dont over think it. https://www.amazon.com/Transfer-Compatible-Westinghouse-Portable-Generator/dp/B0FFZ6TFL9?th=1 I am an Electrical Engineer by the way, why re-invent the wheel when it has already been done.
