My method is hundreds of organza bags, applied the moment they're big enough to fit without applying pressure on the fruit. You can bag the fruit on the lowest branches but that tree is far too tall to get most of them. The bags are reusable. Your soil is now heavily infected with Black Fig Fly larvae, and there's no way to kill them when in the soil. Stopping the cycle will be difficult. At this point, I'd say prune most of that thinner top growth next winter so it forms a more solid canopy next year. In the meantime, maybe try that spinosad and molasses spray, you might not save many unbagged figs at this point but you'll probably kill plenty of flies in the process, which is good for everyone. Next year the figs will be lower and more grouped together, so you could potentially bag a lot via ladder. You'd at least get a good amount of figs that way. Absolutely not ideal, but there's no effective method of BFF control right now besides bagging. You can also try spinosad and molasses in fly traps, but you'll probably kill far more other bugs than you do BFF that way. I personally don't spray anymore because I have too many friends making homes in my trees and I'd feel bad. Green organza bags also seem to confuse birds, so side bonus there.

Everyone in here is immediately going to suggest ladybugs, diatomaceous earth, rosemary oils...etc. None of it works and you will lose all of it. Trust me. Just go straight for the good stuff. Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew. It will wipe them out very quickly. I can't speak to the effect on ladybugs but I'm sure you can dig deeper to find out. Forest for the trees though, do you want to grow ladybugs in your garden, or vegetables? I know you said no Amazon, but they sell this stuff around town at most stores already. It is not some white label, suspicious origins type product. I just linked to Amazon so you could see the product.
