I've seen people use those inflatable wiggly guys with success. The movement scares them. Motion sprinklers are great detterant. Wind spinners made out of reflective materials. I used bamboo as posts . That deters walking up to the pond. Some fishing line overhead deters flying in. A gazing ball, or fake alligator.
