I use this: https://a.co/d/0as6Q9Ep 9 ports total with an advanced feature called an on-off button if you're worried about leaving the batteries charging 24/7. And these: https://a.co/d/0dqJfk0C Magnetic charging adapters aren't all created equal. If you hear stories about them failing or shorting out, it's always the circular ones that are designed to pivot and rotate. The charging contacts slip and touch the wrong pins. The oval ones don't have this problem.

I’ve been running 2x of the below TP Link powered hubs for the past 2yrs without issue: https://a.co/d/07WdA1iY

I bought this one and have been using it with a KVM switch going back and forth between Windows and Linux, and it's been working fine. Since it's powered, you can also use it to charge devices. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SCX6I8A. If the USB port is actually bad and there is a disconnect somewhere, you'd have to be pretty familiar with electronics and soldering to locate a replacement port and install it.

I had a TP Link UH720 connected to my motherboard's USB 3.0 port. I haven't gotten a replacement; I just connected the drive directly to my motherboard's USB C port

cheaper than you think if you only need 17ft. Here's my setup: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BTYVD634?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RYMQPPD?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_5&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SCX6I8A?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4 Works great at 4K/60. Note: you HAVE to plug the usb into a USB2.0 spot on the pc or it won't work. Slower data rate is more reliable over long distance. Don't have USB 2.0 on your motherboard? use one of these and go straight to the motherboard internally: https://www.amazon.com/MZHOU-10Pin-Front-Header-Adapter/dp/B0B6J1SLLP?th=1
