I've been using rechargeable 9v for years now, first in Peavy 6 string, and now in my Ibanez 6 string. I've never had a problem. Some of the comments say the voltage isn't strong enough. Will, it handles the preamp in my bass without any issues. Some say it introduces noise in the signal chain. Again, none that I could tell. Others say you won't know when the battery is dying so you won't know when to change it until it's completely dead. That may be the case by that's never been an issue for me because before any gig, I put a fully charged battery in there. I have 3 batteries so I always have one fully charged, and another as a backup. Maybe I'm lucky, but it works for me. I do keep a brand new Duracell in my gig bag just in case, but I've never needed to use it. The kind I bought isn't on Amazon anymore, but it's by my band EBL. This seems to be what's replaced it: https://a.co/d/093rdZTL
