It should be a lifetime part. But if you get over 150,000 miles or so, you should really think about replacing it. Timing chains stretch. I haven't looked up your specific engine, but it probably has a timing chain tensioner and some guides. Those can also wear out, and if they do, the timing chain has a harder life. Here are all the parts laid out for view at the website of a reputable supplier (LOL). The guides are the big, yellow plastic brackets. The tensionier is at the top left, with the siver rectangle with a doodad sticking out and the red button.
