Just had the same issue but with a PSP 3000! Ended up having to get a whole new battery and it works again! Also being stuck on the initial setup was an issue as well.. none of the buttons would work.. really annoying Link for battery - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2BZSLV4?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_KSKRY80DXPXH8REB4JP9_1 Help with stuck screen - Step-by-Step Troubleshooting 1. Force a Complete RestartA hard reset can clear temporary system hangs. [1] Slide the Power switch up and hold it for 10-15 seconds until the device completely shuts down. Alternatively, hold the Right Shoulder button (R) while pushing the Power switch upward. Leave it off for 30 seconds, then turn it back on. [1, 2] 2. Test for Faulty or Stuck ButtonsIf you can move the cursor but cannot press "X" or "O" to confirm, a button is likely physically stuck or the internal contact film is damaged. [1] Slide the Power switch to the HOLD position for 5 seconds, then slide it back to normal. Press the physical buttons firmly a few times to ensure they are clicking properly. Check if there is any dust or debris trapped underneath the face buttons. [1, 3, 4] 3. Hard Reset Initial SetupYou can bypass a frozen setup screen and force the PSP to wipe its basic user settings without losing game data or firmware modifications. [1, 2] Turn the PSP completely off. Press and hold the Square, Triangle, Select, and Start buttons simultaneously. Keep holding them down and turn the power on. The system should reset to the very first setup screen, bypassing the freeze. [1] 4. Check Memory Card & UMD DriveSometimes faulty media or a broken UMD sensor causes a boot loop. [1] Remove any Memory Stick Pro Duo and any UMD disc from the back. Turn the PSP on and try to navigate the initial setup. [1]
