For anyone still looking for this in 2026... I tried a bunch of different dongles. Most didn't work or kept rebooting when it was hot. See my results below. $219 Ottocast P3: Worked great so far (had it about a week). No issues. It does have a bunch of features I don't want though, but I was able to figure out how to make it boot into android auto automatically, so I'm pretty happy with it. $54 Carlink 5.0 Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Adapter: Didn't work at all $58 Ottocast Play2Video Pro: Worked ok for a while, would reboot when it got hot, and then stopped working completely after a month (booted to a blank screen) $63 Carlinkit 4.0: Worked ok, was slow and often had to turn bluetooth off and back on on my $157 OTTOCAST Mini Dongle Wireless CarPlay: Didn't work at all $37 Ottocast Mini Nova 2 in 1: Didn't work at all $49 Ottocast Mini Core, 2026: Didn't work at all $43 Ottocast 2026 Upgrade Mini Cube 3.0 Didn't work at all

If the installed unit already does wired CarPlay over USB, CarlinKit 5.0 is a good option. If wired CarPlay does not work now, no dongle fixes that.
