OK, I don't think the coax power jack connector will work. I repeated your procedure and actually got blinking red when connecting directly to the battery with terminal clamps (meaning charging) but just blinking green when connected via the power jack adapter. Blinking green is the same as an open circuit, when the charger isn't connected to anything. The manual indicates that the solar charger senses whether a battery load is connected, and will not charge when it doesn't sense the load. I have a feeling that the front panel power jack connector isn't directly wired to the battery, there are charging electronics, and the solar charger isn't happy with that. However, I noticed that the quick-connect connector for the battery matches the SAE connector to the solar charger, so my new plan is to thread a cable into the battery panel through the pull-cord opening, and leave it connected that way. Not necessary to use the bulky battery terminal clamps. The only trick is that the polarity is wrong, so when I connected the solar charger to the battery using the SAE connector, it was solid red, not blinking red. I will need to use either a polarity reversing adapter or an SAE extension cord . I need an extension cord anyway.
