I'm not sure about your experience, because my "fee-only" advisor is literally "free" to me... As a result, I haven't researched the cost of "fee-only" advisors for my personal situation, but I'm sure someone like Rick Ferri (u/Important-Builder370) would be able to give more insight as to the fee-only structure. If I didn't have access to a free financial advisor, I'd want to work with his firm, as he literally wrote the book on "Asset Allocation"...
