Using magnet sheet for the floor will provide a weeker connection than if you use Ferrous Sheets. The magnets on the bases of my minis cling much better and Id have to bang them pretty hard to come loose. For the flat bases, you could simply cut out the magnetic or ferror metal sheet and attach it to the base. i'd l ook up some videos on how people do basing for Warhammer/Napoleonic games. Depending upon the model, you may also be able to drill a hole and glue a rare earth magnet cylinder in. However that will only work for the more thick bases.
