Checkout Stargazer, Smithy. Back Country Iron closer to your price range…I don’t own one but just recently became aware of the brand. Their skillets have milled cooking surfaces. So, they should be very smooth. Lodge has a very grainy rough cooking surface due to not being milled. All great vintage brands have milled cooking surfaces. https://a.co/d/09LAmLtq I tend to stick with vintage cast iron because I inherited quite a few pieces which tend to be lighter in weight than new pans. I have Smithy, Stargazer and Finex skillets and I love them. The Finex is very heavy.
