I have seen the Vargus OBD Lock recommended before - they claim that they change the screw heads up so only 40 sets of each design exist (meaning that on the entire planet, there is a total of 40 locks that could be opened with your key). I keep my key hidden in a spot inside the vehicle - this ensures that I don't lose it and if I forget to take it off before I take it in for service and the shop needs to access it, I can tell the shop where the key is so they are able to remove it and I don't have to drive down to the shop.
