I ended up just buying whatever had decent reviews https://a.co/d/06quAXsP I tried options with Roku and Firestick using local storage as well, but even with local media it requires you to be able to login which requires hotspot setup. The media player is super easy to just turn on and get running, and with even a 64gb card you can have plenty of options.
