If you are dealing with shallow the 3/8 will be fine but on deep strut the extension is needed to get inside the channel and it doesn’t fit because the socket has to go inside that extension making it too wide for the channel. I have been able to get it plenty tight with the 1/4 version that fits inside just fine. They also have adapters now that you can use your 1/4 sockets with an extension from the 1/4 set…then use a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter and you could then use your 3/8 ratchet https://a.co/d/0gPGHSXz They use S as the code for 1/4 and M as the code letter for 3/8. You would have to see what you need it for and your use case. If you can dream it…the knect system can probably do it. I like them because it’s compact set, passthru, and can get me to do just about anything but if I know I am building strut stands all day I will just use a normal ratchet with a deep socket or my impact wrench. Personally, I think this set shines that it can do a ton and can be with you all the time in a service bag or similar but if I were in a shop all the time this would not be my go to set. It is very good but the magic with this comes with its versatility and ease of transport
