I mean, how much sanding did you do, and what grit did you use? Because if there is still enough finish there, and the decals are under the finish, you can just polish it. Wet sand with 600 and 1,000 grit, and then polish. I've just started using THIS stuff, from Menzerna. It's fantastic. You only need a tiny amount, and it works fast. I can't recommend it highly enough.
