JFC, the brakes on my Alfa Romeo Giulia was only $1600 for oem...I ended up paying $600 for aftermarket pads and rotos and $600 to have a shop install... I did a quick check on OEM brake pads for 2015 Mazda 3 and saw lots of pads for under $100, including $79 for a set of front pads from a Dealer: Mazda Parts direct has a pair of Rotors for $82.
