Ok two things. Or maybe three. You have to tell the host. I know it's going to be an uncomfortable conversation, but it has to be done. This is not a five-star stay, and the host needs to know that. They can't fix it if they don't know about it. Lantern flies are an invasive species, and if you see them or their nymphs or whatever anywhere, you need to be killing them and reporting the sighting to the local agricultural extension office, because they're being tracked. Go to Lowe's, or order on Amazon, a bottle of Ortho Home Defense Insect Killer. You can get it in a handheld spray bottle the size of a Windex bottle, and you can get it in a huge bottle with a wand, if you want to go that route. Spray it both inside and outside that door and any windows. This is what we use for any kind of insect problem here (North Carolina), and it works, and it doesn't stink. Use the stream option on the sprayer, lay down a line of it inside and out, and the bug problem will be solved.Ortho Home Defense (Amazon)
