I mean patient is kinda the name of the game for ultra realism. It takes alot of time and layers to get things right. There are some techniques that could speed process up though- putting a layer of marker down first, especially for larger areas, then begin layering pencil on top of that use a solvent like mineral spirits to blend the pencil layers - put down a good layer or two of pencil, then just put a very tiny bit of mineral spirits/solvent on a paint brush and lightly spread across the drawing. This will help spread the pencil layers and get rid of the white showing through without requiring burnishing or many many layers Study techniques....this book i linked below was an absolute game changer for me. It really taught me how to get what i was seeing down on paper. Grateful for the tools/techniques i learned from this book. It includes a ton of great step by step guides. https://www.amazon.com/Painting-Light-Colored-Pencil-Cecile/dp/1600611672
