It's easier when you're younger. I was able to get through it on Ibuprofen and Tylenol alone and I don't have a very hight pain tolerance... it wasn't pleasant, but it wasn't "holy shit gimme drugs now!". If you need stitches in your gums, they can get annoying but DO NOT trim the tail yourself. If cut too short, the stitches will unravel. SMOOTHIES!!! (Just no straws). Frozen fruit (no strawberries, the small seeds can get stuck), milk, juice and I usually add a small Peach fruit cup to help soften the texture. Only add a splash of milk, but more juice than milk. My smoothies were Mango and Peach for sweetness, and pineapple because it apparently helps with the pain (it helped me). As long as the fruit is frozen you should be OK to not add any ice. Salt water rinses, but don't swish. I had a few little shards of bone come through the socket but that's normal. 2 of my wisdom teeth were sideways and had to be cut in half/quarters. Get yourself a Small Toothbrush like this one. It was a game changer for me, just be very careful around the open sockets. Also get a tongue scraper. It will help your breath when you can't brush to your usual standard. Hope this helps!
