Wouldn’t hurt to call attention to the discrepancy to the board. They should be thinking about this if they’re not. Gives them a chance to budget for it for next season, or choose not to, but at least they can recognize they’re leaving the girls out if they do. OTOH, in our own rural LL, I don’t think anybody was paying attention to the baseball mitts either. Maybe you got one, maybe not. They definitely hadn’t been oiled or cleaned in a decade. The Rawlings Shutout seems like a good one with fast break-in if you have to go new. Fastpitch catcher's mitt - my son has been using one since 9u and is now 30 games into 11u season. Bigger pocket, less padding (but enough), and it's designed for youth/small hands. Don't make the position any harder than it has to be.
